This morning, I first went to Xinliao Creek to collect leaves for this artwork. Every time I go into nature to find materials, it feels like I’m having a dialogue with the land.
What may seem like an ordinary leaf can, after being selected, arranged, wrapped, and steamed, leave a unique texture and color on the fabric.
Back in the studio, I began preparing the pre-course assignments.
From preparing the foliage and confirming the garment’s design, to carefully arranging each leaf one by one.
Each step must be taken carefully.
The direction, distance, and layering of the leaves all affect the final lines, rhythm, and overall feel.
This plant-dyed clothing design workshop features three different variations of the garment, allowing participants to choose according to their preferred style.
Even though they are all plant-based dyes, different patterns, different leaf materials, and different arrangements will result in completely different personalities in the final products.
The arrangement of leaves is never just decoration, but a composition, a feeling, and a process of truly bringing nature into life.
This class is not just about making a garment; it’s more like personally capturing the essence of the forest and the traces of the seasons on your own work.
If you also love plants, fabrics, and the unique, natural feel of handmade crafts,
Welcome to experience it together!
Wear the forest on your body.![]()
